My grandmother loved this radio, but chose it mainly because it was a beautiful piece of furniture. This was in the 1950's. The Sears Silvertone console pull-out radio was very special to her family and her 4 daughters. My mother ended up with this gem, and one of her sisters lovingly (?!) painted it in the color that was popular in the 80's, namely hot pink! The wood underneath is magnificent. I showed the inside of the cabinet to display that. I am told by "people who know" that the radio can be rejuvenated with a little expertise. If you don't want the piece for the radio, it would be a lovely hall piece, or a bedside table. I'd love to show you!
