These iron shoe forms were used upside down on a stand that fit into the hole. This kept the leather material being stretched onto the form, steady. Each one is really heavy. I used them on my stairs with a candle in each one, going up the staircase. Red ones were very festive at Christmas. They can be paper weights or bookends as well. They are a great conversation piece. A couple have the word "MALLEABLE" embossed on the side. The small one has the word "WARRANTED". There are 4 that are the same size, one small and one larger. The bottoms are smooth, like one of the pictures.
