The primary responsibilities of a water truck driver are to transport water to construction sites and to use the water-spraying attachment on their truck to control dust on the roadways.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To haul water from water source to worksite as often as required.
• Communicate with Supervisor to ensure production runs smoothly.
• Daily inspection of valves, pumps and hoses.
• Drive truck equipped with sprinkling attachment to settle dust on roadways and streets and to saturate flexible base for compaction.
• General mechanics skills.
• PerformMay requ daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle before operation.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications/Job Skills
• Requires a Class A or B CDL license and tanker endorsement (Large water trucks).
• Mobilization from job to job.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations (Large water trucks).
• Knowledge of specific safety practices
• Knowledge of pumps, pipe fittings, and weight distribution.
• Good listening and verbal skills.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift fifty pounds or more as needed.
• Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to climb or crawl on equipment often and be able to get under equipment to work on it.
Working Conditions
• Exposure to heat, cold, rain and dust on a regular basis
• Noisy environment
